About us

Green Communities was an Energy Saving Trust programme that aimed to help communities deliver effective carbon savings and sustainable energy projects and support them in moving towards a low carbon future.

Due to funding constraints the Green Communities helpline, expert support, e-news and training services will not continue beyond 31 March 2011. We would like to thank our members for their support, and wish them success in their future projects.

Our website is still packed with resources to help make your community based energy project a success. We have a number of online tools that will help to kick start your project, work out your community's carbon footprint, create an action plan, find useful information and funding to help deliver your project, save energy and money.

	Carbon Footprint Tool Use this tool to aid your community project and engage community members. Set up a community profile and invite people to join for an estimation of you community’s carbon footprint.
	Action Planning Tool Develop a plan to reduce your community’s overall carbon footprint with the Action Planning Tool. The tool helps you choose the most effective energy saving actions and estimates how much carbon your community could save.
	Project Support Tool Search Green Communities web content and documents to find helpful information based on your community’s project type and what stage you are at.
